Are you one of those people who is always trying to find the best deal, or looking for ways to cut down on costs for your next holiday? How about the hidden costs that the airlines like to charge and endless other hidden fees. Well, let me tell you that there are many ways to cut costs and save yourself time and money.

Until recently, I had been living in Japan. It was a good eight years, and I would probably stay more. Then, the fourth largest earthquake in recorded history hit, and I said, “whoa, I think maybe it's time to move home”. So, I went onto the websites in Japan to try and find tickets back to Canada for me and my family.

I was shocked! Huge prices that I had never seen before. Never mind the hidden fees and taxes, the prices were just plain crazy. How about 5500 American for my wife, son and I. Way too much! I decided to go with one of my online travel stores that I have on my website. I did not even think I could use it for I was flying out of Japan, and not the States or North America. Well, I clicked on Expedia, punched in the dates, the time, the location, and would not you know it. 3000 bucks is what they wanted. I could not believe it. A 2500 dollar savings! I then thought, well, I have never ordered tickets online, and am not too sure if this is easy to do. Well, after reading a bit more on the site, I went ahead and ordered the tickets. They are e-tickets so you actually don`t really have to do anything. Even if you lose your info they have it at the airport. It only took me about ten minutes to do it all.

Anyhow, after ordering the tickets, I received updates about the flight status, reminders and other great stuff from Expedia. They did this a few times over the next month, which was very reassuring. When does your travel agent do that or have time to do that?

Now this is where the story gets better. I had to fly back to Japan and close up shop. Quit my job, although it was not easy to do and pack up all my belongings; sell the car, get the cats ready to be shipped, shots for my son, police checks for my wife, health stuff done while we are still on the company health plan, and so on. It took a month to get it all done, and we are still a little behind, but that is another story later on. Anyhow, I needed another flight and was excited to use Expedia again. Again I went to my website which I am working on, and checked the Expedia price. It was pretty good, but my mom thought it would be better to use her travel agent. She was sure that she could get a better price. Well, we waited to get a hold of the agent for she was out. She finally got back to us and told us the price. It was way more than what I could get through my own website. I then looked at some of the other airlines on my site and I found even better deals than Expedia. I was amazed at how cool my site is really turning out to be.

So, I took the gamble again, and decided to go with a new travel company. Well everything went well, the flight was great, got my cats and family back to Canada and saved more money than going through the Japanese travel agent or a local one.

So if you are looking for ways to cut costs on travel, I really do suggest you go to my site and go to the travel page. There you can find great deals and savings for vacations, flights and holiday packages all over the world. It is really worth the time. You don`t have to go driving around town or the city to talk to a travel agent who will probably come back with a more expensive price than you can find on your own.
